■ Invitation

The Asia Quality Symposium (AQS) is a quality conference, which has been held in one of the cities in Korea, Taiwan and Japan in every year since 1986, to promote sharing knowledge and experience for sound development of Asia through "quality".

The AQS Steering Committee in 2001 decided to invite quality experts from many quality related organizations in Asia including the three member bodies to the 16th AQS - Tokyo. Japanese Society for Quality Control (JSQC) will host the 16th AQS, under the symposium theme of "Sustainable growth - Asian Quality in the 21st century".

The coming AQS will provide attractive and interesting opportunities, including contributed papers, invited papers, special lectures, SIG (special interest group), company visit, tutorials, information exchanges, and shared values. We would be pleased to encourage all quality related experts, researchers, practitioners and students to participate in the 16th AQS.

アジア品質シンポジウム（AQS）は，品質によるアジアの健全な発展のための知識と経験の交流の場として，1986年以来韓国，台湾，日本において開催されてきた品質会議です．

2001年のAQS運営委員会において，東京で開催予定の第16回AQSには，韓台日の三国を含むアジア各国の品質の専門家に広く参加を呼びかけることを決定しました．

来るAQSは，投稿論文，招待論文，特別講演，SIG，企業訪問，チュートリアル，情報交換，意見交換など，魅力的で興味深い内容が満載です．品質の専門家，研究者，実務家，学生の皆さん，第16回AQSへのご参加をお勧めします．

The official language of the symposium is English.

■ Screening process

The submitted abstracts are reviewed by the program committee toward the presentation in the Symposium. The screening results are notified to the all authors on August 7, 2002.
Full papers are requested to be submitted before October 15, 2002, following the full paper instruction. The length of the full paper will be single spaced 6-12 pages of A4 paper. It is not guaranteed to be included in the proceedings for the delayed papers.

■ 発表論文の選定

稿論文はプログラム委員会において査読し，採否を2002年8月7日までにご連絡いたします．
最終論文は，論文執筆ガイドに従って完成していただき，2002年10月15日までに提出していただきます．最終論文の長さは，A4サイズ用紙シングルスペースで6～12ページとします．論文提出の締切りに遅れた場合には，論文予稿集に掲載することができなくなります．

Registration fee: USD120 (JYE15,000)
