I am privileged to announce that India will host the 2nd Asian Network For Quality (ANQ) Congress and 18th Asia Quality Symposium from August 16 – 19, 2004.The theme is ”QUALITY FOR THE PROSPERITY OF ASIA”.

This unique event will bring together the quality professionals of several Asian countries including Japan, China, Korea and Taiwan. Asia today is emerging as the “Plant of the World”. It makes products not only competitively but more and more to the highest standards of quality expected anywhere in the world. Asia is also emerging as a high quality source of international services in software, business process outsourcing and healthcare.

This congress provides a forum to share our knowledge and experiences between the great countries of Asia. ANQ stands for the ASIAN WAY of harmony in diversity, constancy of purpose and austerity.

For our overseas visitors, this is also an opportunity to discover Delhi, India’s capital. The city is a fine combination of ancient and modern India. Delhi is noted for spectacular Mughal architecture. It is one of the oldest living cities in the world. New Delhi is India’s show window. A truly cosmopolitan city, it has brought within its fold people of all ethnic groups and their traditions and culture reflected in a variety of arts, crafts, cuisines, festivals and life styles. Delhi pulsates with music concerts, dance festivals, theatre performances and art exhibitions. Coming to Delhi shall provide an opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal, a three hour ride by road. We have sightseeing packages for interested delegates and persons accompanying delegates.

Asia is an old continent with a new economy based on the dynamism evident over the last ten years. It is home to more than half the population of the world. There are many regions and segments of the economy that have not been able to keep pace. It is therefore important to exchange ideas and experiences among all quality related professionals, researchers, practitioners and students so that all sections of society and segments of economy get the required importance for uniform and accelerated growth. ANQ provides a platform to share and learn and also to spread it wide. The 2nd ANQ Congress and the 18th Asia Quality Symposium being held at New Delhi will provide an excellent networking opportunity to all the participants to work for the prosperity of Asia.

The congress commences on Monday, August 16, 2004 and finishes on 18 August 2004. Factory visits has been planned for August 19, 2004. The congress will be held at HABITAT WORLD, INDIA HABITAT CENTRE, NEW DELHI. Social and cultural activities have been planned before, during and after the Congress.

Presentation of abstract/papers

Delegates interested in presenting papers at the 2nd ANQ Congress / 18th ASQ are requested to submit: Please send the abstracts to The Program Committee secretariat isq@vsnl.net by e-mail not later than April 16, 2004

Screening process

The abstracts will be reviewed by the program committee to see its suitability for presentation in the Congress/Symposium. The screening results will be notified to all authors by May 28, 2004.

Full papers are required to be submitted before July 15,2004, after receipt of confirmation of acceptance of abstract by the programme committee.

Delegate can make their programme to visit TAJ MAHAL at AGRA before or after the Congress. This visit shall be at a rate of $ 100 including entrance fees. This shall involve going in the morning and coming back late in the evening. Transportation by Luxury bus, tea, snacks and Lunch enroute are part of the package.
